Storm Siren with Wake-up Function
Storms and extreme temperatures are more and more frequent in our latitudes. According to statistics, twice as many natural disasters occurred in Germany in the past ten years compared with previous decades. The catastrophes caused casualties and millions of euros in damage. The problem is: how to alert the public in time in case of hurricanes or floods? This is particularly difficult at night or in case of power blackout. e*Message presented a solution at the 4th Storm Congress, held in Bremerhaven on 19 and 20 February 2009. The novel storm siren provides nation-wide coverage to warn the public rapidly and efficiently in case of an imminent local, regional or national disaster.
